Re: How Carbon dioxide self-regulation is fundamental to health and performance:

Statistics suggest that tens of millions of people worldwide suffer with the profound and misunderstood symptoms and deficits of breathing habits that compromise respiration. This compromise is primarily the result of behavioral hypocapnia, a carbon dioxide (CO2) deficit brought about by vicious circle breathing habits. Survey data points to its accounting for as much as 60% of ambulance runs in the major USA cities and 25% of the USA population. Unfortunately, these habits are rarely identified by practitioners, their effects mistakenly attributed to other causes, and their resolutions prescriptive in nature where focus is on symptoms rather than on causes.
