The story behind the series…

In early 2021, BBC StoryWorks decided to investigate wellness and better understand the momentum in the world for this often-misunderstood industry. Drawn to the non-profit Global Wellness Institute (GWI) for its research and evidence-based information, GWI’s team worked closely with BBC StoryWorks’ producers on the series, tapped its global network of wellness leaders by issuing a “Call for Stories,” and helped identify individuals and organizations taking a creative, meaningful approach to wellness. The series was announced at the 2021 Global Wellness Summit (GWS) in Boston, Massachusetts. A year later, it launched at the 2022 GWS in Tel Aviv, Israel. The overwhelming success of the series has inspired a second series, which is already in pre-production—and this benefits everyone in the wellness space.
