A new study from Sweden finds that people who use saunas are happier, sleep better, and have more energy. Dr. Hans Hägglund, a professor at the University of Uppsala (aka the “sauna doctor”), said of the study: “It shows that sauna users are happier, sleep better, have more energy,  and rate their mental and physical health better than the group that does not use saunas.”

The study surveyed over 1,000 people aged 25-71, with 66% indicating they took a sauna at least once a month. Most sauna studies, which tend to originate in Finland, indicate that it’s important to sauna frequently per week to gain the benefits, but, instead, this study showed that taking a sauna one to four times a month makes users the happiest.
