Meet the Speakers
Ben Bolgar, the Executive Director of Projects at The King’s Foundation, an honorary fellow at the University College of Estate Management and a visiting fellow at Kellogg College, University of Oxford. Ben’s work embodies the very principles of regeneration and renewal. At the Foundation he has led collaborative planning and design frameworks that cover city expansions, new towns, brownfield remediation, town center regeneration, as well as heritage, ecological and healthcare projects. Ben is shaping what it means to design for wellness, community, and sustainability at scale. His expertise in bringing the past and future together through thoughtful design ensures that every development tells a story of cultural relevance while prioritizing the well-being of its inhabitants.
Dr David Howard is an Associate Professor in Sustainable Urban Development at the University of Oxford, and a fellow of Kellogg College, Oxford. He is also Co-Director of the Global Centre on Healthcare and Urbanisation (GCHU) at Kellogg College, which uses an interdisciplinary approach to embrace sustainable urban design and evidence-based healthcare. The GCHU hosts public debates and promotes research on key urban issues affecting society today, with the aim to provoke discussion and constructive action, linking current best practices and emerging research. His research has focused on current and historical issues of urban development in the Americas, relating colonial legacies to contemporary societal issues today.
