“Consequent to nasal-airflow-induced patterns of brain activity, patterns of airflow have been linked to emotional and cognitive states. More specifically, patterns and particularly phase (inhale vs. exhale) of nasal airflow have been linked to performance in memory consolidation and retrieval, quality of mental imagery, discrimination of facial fear, and visuospatial processing.”
