Wellness Economy Research Master Class on Wellness Tourism Now Available to Stream Online

View the recording of the Wellness Economy Research Master Class: Wellness Tourism held in March 2024 with GWI research fellows Katherine Johnston, Ophelia Yeung & Tonia Callender.

At the recent Wellness Economy Research Master Class with a focus on Wellness Tourism, the Global Wellness Institute (GWI) released the Wellness Policy Toolkit: Wellness in Tourism, presenting a new paradigm for thinking about wellness and tourism more holistically. Addressing tourism as a key domain of wellness policy, this report advocates for policy approaches that ensure wellness and tourism will be mutually reinforcing, asking: How can wellness support tourism? And, how can tourism support the wellness of travelers, destinations, and local residents?

The Wellness in Tourism toolkit is part of GWI’s Wellness Policy Series that was created to support anyone who would like to leverage policy as a tool to promote better human health and wellbeing. Whether you are a government leader, policymaker, public servant, private business, nonprofit or concerned citizen, this series will provide you with cross-cutting and actionable ideas for policies, programs, collaborations, and advocacy efforts to address gaps, meet the needs of different population groups, and expand access to wellness for all.

View the Wellness Economy Research Master Class on Wellness Tourism from March 2024 for the first look at this toolkit and to gain a deeper understanding of this rapidly growing segment within tourism that is often misunderstood.
