Dear Friends,
At the Global Wellness Summit (GWS) in Boston in November 2021, the Global Wellness Institute (GWI) announced a ground-breaking new series about the world of wellness to be produced for GWI by BBC StoryWorks Commercial Productions and hosted on a commercial microsite BBC.com. The series will seek to consider what ‘wellness’ means for a global audience, showcase exciting innovations contributing to individual and community wellbeing, and challenge the notion that wellness is an exclusive pursuit. It will explore how we can embrace wellness practices in our daily lives – and explore the solutions enabling us to take better care of our communities, our planet and ourselves.
We are thrilled with the response we have received to the announcement, both at the Summit and in the weeks since, from people across the world of wellness. There is a real demand for greater awareness, understanding and recognition of the breadth and impact of evidence-based wellness practices.
We are now pleased to invite members of the GWI and GWS networks to formally submit stories for consideration for inclusion in the series.
Your stories
We invite you to share case studies that demonstrate how your organization contributes to making wellness more accessible and achievable. Particularly of interest are specific examples that demonstrate measurable impact on the wellness of individuals or communities.
To submit a story on behalf of your organization, please use the form available through this link.
BBC StoryWorks, together with the GWI, will review the submitted case studies and select compelling and diverse stories. The creative teams will then work with selected organizations to create visually engaging documentary-style films, written articles, or audio content. Selected organizations will pay for the production of their film(s) to be determined by several variables, such as filming locations, the scope of production, and timelines. Those organizations will also be able to work with the BBC StoryWorks team and the GWI to amplify the series across their own networks and channels.
Timeline
The call for stories will end on Friday, February 25. Selected organizations will be contacted in the weeks following to discuss their story further with the BBC StoryWorks team, with film production and content creation to take place predominantly between April and June.
The series is anticipated to go live as part of a launch event at the GWS in Tel Aviv this October. It will live on a dedicated, immersive commercial microsite on BBC.com hosting the film series as well as through audio and written content. A 12-month campaign will drive relevant audiences from among BBC.com’s 130 million monthly users and the GWI network.
