Aging Well Initiative

The Aging Well Initiative is a groundbreaking effort dedicated to understanding and addressing the unique wellness needs of individuals aged 50 and above. As the global population of those 50+ continues to grow at an unprecedented rate, there is an urgent need to focus on their specific wellness-related requirements and preferences. This initiative aims to provide a comprehensive platform to explore, share, and promote innovative practices, products, and designs that enhance the overall well-being of the 50+ demographic.


Objectives

Research & Insights: Conduct extensive research to understand the evolving wellness needs, challenges, and aspirations of the 50+ population. This includes physical health, mental well-being, social connections, and financial security.

Innovative Practices: Identify and highlight innovative and effective wellness practices that have shown promise in improving the quality of life for individuals over 50. This includes emerging trends in fitness, nutrition, mental health, and holistic wellness.

Product & Design Excellence: Showcase cutting-edge products and design solutions that cater specifically to the 50+ market, ensuring they are safe, effective, and enhance daily living.

Community & Support: Foster a global community where individuals, caregivers, professionals, and organizations can share experiences, resources, and support to promote aging well.

Policy & Advocacy: Advocate for policies and initiatives that support the wellness of the 50+ population, encouraging governments and organizations to prioritize the health and well-being of this demographic.

William Wesley Myers, Aging Well Initiative Chair, Mather, Assistant Vice President, Wellness Strategy, United States

William Wesley Myers is the Assistant Vice President of Wellness Strategy at Mather, a nonprofit known for its luxury wellness communities and initiatives in Chicagoland. He integrates holistic wellness into Mather’s vision through the Person-Centric Wellness Model and ContinuWell™️, enhancing well-being for residents and team members. Myers leads spa development, touchless wellness tech, and corporate wellness strategies, fostering engagement and innovation to improve quality, profitability, and personal well-being.

Vice-Chair

Meredith Boyle, Aging Well Initiative Vice-Chair, Mather, Senior Vice President, Strategic Initiatives, United States

Meredith acts as a catalyst for innovation in developing strategic partnerships, collaboration, and alliances that support Mather’s mission, vision, goals, and values. She works to incorporate innovative wellness practices and approaches healthy lifestyles, while expanding affiliations and relationships with wellness real estate providers, organizations, and educational institutions to increase Mather’s reach and grow the number of older adults the organization serves. She brings more than 30 years of strategic and results-driven industry experience, with expertise in marketing, sales, branding, finance and enterprise growth. Meredith earned a Bachelor of Science degree from the University of Delaware.
