Last month Junior Genius Global and the GWI Wellness for Children Initiative hosted the Children’s Mental Health Summit in Ireland, bringing together global experts a for a full day of educational sessions about the mental health challenges faced by our young children today and providing actionable solutions. Christine Clinton, chair of the GWI Wellness for Children Initiative, shares some highlights, including:
- Opening the event with Irish Children playing traditional Irish music along with three generations of local musicians
- Meeting Roderic O’Gorman, Irish Minister for Children
- Seeing Freddie Moross, CEO of Myndstrem, with the little boy featured in the first BBC Storyworks “In Pursuit of Wellness” series produced for the GWI
- Having three recipients of the Debra Simon Award for Leader in Furthering Mental Wellness together discussing prevention and children’s mental health (Dr. Sergio Pecorelli, Freddie Moross and Christine Clinton)
- Gaining insights from Dr. Donna Volpitta, representing the GWI Mental Health Initiative
