Global Wellness Tourism Trend, Market and Economy
Amplifying its role as host to the G20 Presidency this year, Indonesia took the lead to gather global leaders at the International Wellness Tourism Conference & Festival last month, an official G20 side event, where GWI Chair and CEO Susie Ellis spoke on “Global Wellness Tourism Trend, Market, and Economy.” Tourism has been one of the sectors most affected by the pandemic, and GWI predicts Wellness Tourism will drive growth and recovery as it expands at a 21% annual growth rate to a market valued at $1.1 trillion by 2025.
About the Conference
To support wellness tourism, the Indonesian Ministry of Tourism and Creative Economy held a #G20Indonesia side event “International Wellness Tourism Conference & Festival” (IWTCF) 2022 in Solo, Central Java. IWTCF refers to the spirit of the G20 Presidency, “Recover Together, Recover Stronger” and is manifested into a special theme: “A Sustainability Strategy for the World Tourism Recovery and Growth through Wellness Tourism for All.” Learn more
About the G20 in Indonesia
The 17th G20 Heads of State and Government Summit will take place at November 2022 in Bali. The Summit will be the pinnacle of the G20 process and intense work carried out within the Ministerial Meetings, Working Groups, and Engagement Groups throughout the year.
