Susie Ellis is Chairman and CEO of the Global Wellness Institute (GWI), and heads up the organization’s annual Global Wellness Summit and Global Wellness Tourism Congress. She also spearheaded the GWI initiative, WellnessEvidence.com, the first online portal that provides easy access to the universe of medical evidence that exists for the most common wellness approaches.




Renee Moorefield, PhD

As CEO of the Wisdom Works, Renee has helped forward-thinking clients—such as Booz Allen Hamilton, Merck & Company, and The Coca-Cola Company—build the kind of wellbeing leadership required to create inspired workplaces, develop caring relationships with citizens, and produce results that matter. She also co-authored the 2004 book, Driven by WELLth, and writes a monthly blog called Wellbeing + Strategy at Wisdom-Works.com.

Dondeena Bradley has spent more than 25 years in “Corporate America” as a warrior for humanity, health and heart. She is a disrupter who dispenses unconventional wisdom and intuits imminent convergences. As Global Vice President of Innovation at Weight Watchers, Dondeena is charged with helping to transform this venerable organization and expand its reach and impact. She received her PhD in food science and MS in nutrition, yet believes we need to take broader view of wellbeing.




James Brewer

Workspace Consultant, Steelcase

In his role as Workplace Consultant at Steelcase, James leverages a diversified background in management, sales, strategic design and project management to inform innovative solutions.  He is focused on helping organizations understand how physical space can be optimized to promote employee wellbeing and organizational performance.  Additionally, James is driving research initiatives designed to broaden our understanding of how the built-environment can support employee wellbeing.




Dr. Luba Burtyk

Assistant Corporate Medical Director, Live Well at Citi Health Services

Luba Burtyk is the Assistant Corporate Medical Director for Citi. Her current role includes assisting in the development and management of the Live Well at Citi global health strategy, providing medical support and guidance globally to senior leadership, business travelers, and expatriate staff.  In addition, she provides subject matter medical expertise for global health preparedness and policy, and for US regulatory compliance, particularly as related to the Americans with Disabilities Act (ADA).

As President of Delos International and Signature Programs, Alfredo Carvajal is responsible for Delos’ signature overlay programs, bringing wellness solutions to the hospitality and residential sectors, as well as expanding Delos’ businesses globally.  Alfredo has more than 22 years of experience in domestic and international hospitality and wellness/spa operations, brand development and strategic planning at some of the world’s most recognized hospitality, lifestyle and wellness brands. 




Emily Dery

Head, Global Health Track, Clinton Global Initiative

Emily Dery has more than five years of experience in international non-profit management, public-private partnerships, programs, and fundraising. She is equipped with a strong understanding of NGO, philanthropic, and private sector issues in international development. Emily has been with the Clinton Global Initiative since 2012 and has been heading the Global Health Track Division, with a special focus on health systems and non-communicable diseases (NCDs) for more than 10 months.



Theresa DiMasi

VP Content & Editor in Chief, Weight Watchers International

Theresa DiMasi has been the Vice President of Content, as well as Editor in Chief, at Weight Watchers International for more than seven years. She has published numerous articles on cooking to share her insights and help educate people on the benefits of a healthy lifestyle. She previously held the same position at Condé Nast’s Brides.com website. Theresa graduated from the University of Michigan Business School.




Kim Fox

Kim Fox has been the Senior Vice President of Communications & Public Relations at Everyday Health, Inc. since 2014. She is responsible for working cross-functionally and proactively to plan, direct and drive strategy for all communications across Everyday Health and business units, as well as growing the Everyday Health brand and raising awareness for the company. She has more than 20 years of experience in healthcare communications supporting both US and global initiatives. 




Maggie Hsu

Chief of Staff & Vice President, Business Development, Downtown Project

Maggie Hsu sits on Downtown Project’s executive team and oversees its business development and partnership efforts. Hsu is also the Chief of Staff to Tony Hsieh, CEO of Zappos.com and Founder of Downtown Project. Previously, Hsu was Director of Strategy for Brands & Commercial Services at Hilton Worldwide and a consultant at McKinsey & Company in New York. Hsu holds undergraduate and MBA degrees from Harvard University.

As chief brand officer of Spafinder Wellness, Inc.®, the world’s largest media, marketing and gifting company for the spa and wellness industry, Mia Kyricos leads the company’s worldwide branding initiatives, including Workplace Wellness 365™. As creator of the company’s core “Wellness 365” philosophy, she oversees the company’s market position and value proposition to all of its stakeholders, as well as research, partnerships and communications. She sits on the boards of the Global Wellness Summit and the University of California Irvine.




Nazlie Latefi, PhD

Chief Scientific Officer, Pegasus Capital Advisors, L.C.

Dr. Nazlie Latefi is a life sciences expert holding a PhD in molecular biology and neuroscience and has many years of experience advising the investment industry on health and sustainability. She has written for numerous publications and is currently a Chief Scientific Officer at Pegasus Capital Advisors, a private equity firm focused on health and sustainability.

Heather R. Lucas

National Health & Wellness Director, Macy’s Inc.

Heather Lucas is the new National Health & Wellness Director at Macy’s, with responsibilities that include leading the strategic direction for Macy’s Live Healthy program and directing the company’s national medical vendor relationship. Previously with Scripps Networks Interactive (HGTV, DIY Network, Food Network, Travel Channel), Heather served as the Director of Health and Welfare plans, where she designed and implemented company-wide health and wellness programs, including global health plans for expatriate staff and global travelers.




Dr. Michael F. Roizen

Chief Wellness Officer, Cleveland Clinic

Michael F. Roizen, MD, is a Phi Beta Kappa graduate of Williams College and Alpha Omega Alpha graduate of the University of California, San Francisco, School of Medicine. In 2007, Dr. Roizen was named Chief Wellness Officer at Cleveland Clinic, the first such position in a major healthcare institution in the United States. Dr. Roizen also serves as Chairman of the Wellness Institute at Cleveland Clinic.

Founder & Chief Science Officer, Institute for Healthy Destination Accreditation (IHDA)

Mary Ellen Rose, PhD has worked in the health science field for more than 30 years. An educator, scientist, consultant, published academic and author, she is a subject matter specialist in comprehensive health promotion.  Her work consistently expands the applicability of research into sensible and relevant practices across a variety of industries.  In 2012, Dr. Rose co-founded the Institute for Healthy Destination Accreditation.




Veronica Schreibeis Smith

Principal Architect, Vera Iconica Architecture

Veronica Schreibeis Smith began her career in Peru and South Korea with projects ranging from upgrades to the Hyatt Regency Incheon to working with the people of Lake Titicaca to develop thermal baths using local materials and masonry techniques. She also founded Vera Iconica Architecture, which focuses on sculpting space from the landscape to create graceful experiences that connect self to place. 




Mim Senft

Wellness Director, Plus One Health Management, Optum

 Mim Senft, CWWS, GBA, AAI, RYT is a Wellness Director for Plus One Health Management, a division of Optum. She works onsite for one of their leading financial services clients focusing on wellness and benefits programming, communications and strategy. Prior to joining Plus One, Ms. Senft was the Wellness Coordinator for National Financial Partners (NFP) and worked with more than 70 companies to help them create and grow impactful wellness programs. 




Dr. Lori Zimmerman

Corporate Medical Director, Citi

Lori Zimmerman is the Corporate Medical Director for Citi. She directs the operations of nine on-site medical clinics and thirty staff members nationally, develops and manages Live Well at Citi, the global health and wellness initiative, provide global health services for expatriate staff and international business travelers, serves as the primary medical advisor for all US regulatory compliance and global health preparedness and policy and provides patient care.




Dr. Kenneth R. Pelletier

University of Arizona & University of California Schools of Medicine

enneth R. Pelletier, PhD, MD, is a Clinical Professor of Medicine at the University of Arizona College of Medicine and a Clinical Professor of Medicine in the Department of Family and Community Medicine and in the Department of Psychiatry at the University of California School of Medicine. At the University of Arizona School of Medicine, he is Director of the Corporate Health Improvement Program (CHIP) which is a collaborative research program between CHIP and 15 of the Fortune 500 corporations and serves as Chairman of the American Health Association. 




Paul Terry, PhD

Executive Vice President & Chief Science Officer, Staywell

Paul Terry, Ph.D., is the Chief Science Officer of StayWell, the nation’s premier provider of workplace health promotion programs. Before returning to StayWell, Paul was the President and C.E.O. of the Park Nicollet Institute, a health care research and education organization. He earned his Ph.D. from the University of Minnesota and his Masters from Minnesota State University at Mankato where he was honored with the Distinguished Alumni Humanitarian Award.
