Awaji 2026: Exploring the Future of Longevity

Hosted by GWI’s Geography of Wellness Partner in Japan, Paloma Group, featuring new research from GWI

November 15, 2026 | Awaji Island, Japan

GWI’s Geography of Wellness partner in Japan, Pasona Group, will host an international forum on Awaji Island exploring the future of longevity, health and wellbeing.

Hosted by Pasona Group together with GWS Board Member Yoriko Soma President & CEO of Conceptasia Inc, the gathering will bring together experts from Japan and around the world, including GWI Research Fellow Katherine Johnston, for a multidisciplinary conversation about what it takes to live longer, healthier and more fulfilling lives.

As one of the world’s longest-living societies, Japan offers a distinctive perspective on longevity. The forum will look beyond healthcare alone to examine the role of nutrition, culture, community, nature, regenerative medicine, preventive health, business and innovation in supporting lifelong wellbeing.

Sessions will explore topics including longevity science, global markets, business, design and food culture, as well as the ways Awaji Island is bringing health, food, nature, culture and innovation together as a living model of wellbeing.

The program will take place at THE PASONA natureverse retreat on Awaji Island from 10:00 am to 6:00 pm on November 15. Participants are also invited to a welcome gathering on November 14, with additional post-conference opportunities available to a limited number of guests.
