A New Season of In Pursuit of Wellness Is in Development

The next chapter of global wellness storytelling is coming.

At the Global Wellness Summit’s Wellness Real Estate & Communities Symposium on May 12, Gemma Jennings, Global Vice President of Programme Partnerships at BBC Studios, will take the stage to discuss how storytelling plays a role in real estate and what is in development for the upcoming season of In Pursuit of Wellness—the acclaimed series created in partnership with the Global Wellness Institute.

A Series That Has Reached Millions

Produced by BBC StoryWorks Commercial Productions, In Pursuit of Wellness was created to bring more inclusive, science-informed, and human-centered narratives about wellbeing to a global audience.

The response has been significant.

Across its first three seasons, the series has generated more than 37 million video views, over 40 million social media engagements, and millions of page views on BBC.com. It’s a clear signal that audiences are not just interested in wellness—they’re seeking stories that help them understand it in a deeper, more meaningful way.

What’s Coming in the New Season

The upcoming season builds on that momentum, expanding both the scope and depth of the series. Its global launch will coincide with the 20th Global Wellness Summit in Phuket, Thailand, November 10-13.

This next chapter will be shaped around three core themes that reflect the full spectrum of wellness today:

Wellness in the Home Where wellbeing begins. This theme explores how our immediate environments shape sleep, stress, mental health, and daily rituals—alongside the often-overlooked factors like light, air, and materials that quietly influence how we feel.

Wellness in the Community Beyond the front door, wellness becomes collective. This chapter examines the future of real estate, healthcare environments, and shared spaces—along with the role of community design in addressing loneliness, connection, and intergenerational living.

Wellness in the World Looking outward, this theme connects personal wellbeing with broader cultural and planetary health. From sustainability and climate-conscious living to travel, creativity, and cultural expression, it explores how wellness extends into the systems that shape our lives.

Why This Matters Now

As the wellness industry continues to grow, so does the need for storytelling that makes it accessible, credible, and relevant.

This series does exactly that.

By combining the BBC’s storytelling expertise with the Global Wellness Institute’s research and global network, In Pursuit of Wellness translates complex ideas into narratives that resonate across cultures and geographies.

It also reflects a broader shift: wellness is no longer confined to individual habits or isolated experiences. It is increasingly shaped by the environments we live in, the communities we’re part of, and the systems that surround us.

A Preview at the Symposium

Jennings’ presentation at the Symposium will offer a preview of the new season, along with insights into how the series is developed, what themes are emerging globally, and why this kind of storytelling is resonating at scale.

It’s a rare opportunity to see how narrative, media, and wellness intersect—and how those stories are helping to define the future of the industry.
