Music for Health and Wellbeing Initiative
Objectives
Supporting a quad-win framework for industry, academia, artists and listeners through:
- Fostering a culture of duty of care and creating with intention when delivering into care settings
- Addressing the lack of agreed upon/universal language through crafting a set of foundational definitions (e.g. music therapy vs sound therapy vs functional music)
- Supporting cutting edge research by funding small scale projects intended to help investigators prepare for future funding opportunities
- Developing industry guidelines and best practices to inform the building of future accreditation/certification courses to help artists make informed decisions when creating functional music that is fit-for-purpose (ease anxiety, relaxation, energising etc.)
- Look to support the industry further by collaborating with organisations like the AMTA to input on best practice
