The Wealth/Wellness Connection: Swiss, Icelandic & US Consumers Spend the Most on Wellness
The GWIs new research report, “The Global Wellness Economy: Country Rankings,” is packed with information on national wellness markets, including which countries spend the most per capita on wellness. Not surprisingly, the average annual consumer spend on wellness is the highest in the very wealthiest economies. Nearly all of the 20 top markets for wellness spending per person also rank in the top 20 globally for GDP per capita. Globally, the wellness market represents 5.1% of total GDP—so, roughly 1 in every 20 “dollars” spent by consumers is on wellness.
