The purpose of the GWI Wellness Retail Initiative is to explore how the concept of wellness is creating new opportunities in the rapidly evolving retail sector. The Wellness Retail Initiative will be instrumental in:

Defining the building blocks of “wellness retail” in terms of products, services and places.
Exploring the value and opportunity of creating wellness experiences in both digital and physical retail spaces.
Researching consumer motivation and drivers for owning or experiencing wellness-related products or services.
Anticipating future wellness retail consumer needs and desires to support business marketing and operations.

Dr. Whitney Austin Gray brings over a decade of expertise as an international leader in the intersection of health and built environment. She leads the Delos Insights team focused on conducting industry research and supporting industry adoption of healthy building practices. She led the development of the first case studies focused on the WELL Building Standard and helped to launch educational and training sessions related to WELL in over 25 countries.

Francine Miley is the head of health & wellness retail for Unibail-Rodamco-Westfield, an owner and operator of iconic retail destinations. She is leading the strategic evolution of the US portfolio in a way that responds to – and builds upon – the rapidly growing momentum of today’s health and wellness movement. Francine is also driving relevant brand relationships and business development opportunities while re-calibrating the composition of assets to encompass a full suite of health amenities such as gyms; spas; yoga; boxing; micro-fitness; cycling studios; cross-fitness training and even full-service, membership-based health clinics and healthcare services.
